What these numbers mean

Taken together, the stats paint a strong picture: Greenwell DGC is not only attracting more visits - the people who come are staying, tracking their rounds, rating the course highly, and bringing friends. The steady rise in plays starting in late spring and accelerating through the summer shows growth that isn’t just a one-week spike - it’s sustained.

The step totals are also amazing: millions of steps logged means disc golf at Greenwell is doing what it should - getting people outside, active, and enjoying themselves. That’s a win for health, community, and the sport.

Why this matters for LCDGA and the community

  • Visibility: Climbing in global/regional play ranks helps put Greenwell and the LCDGA on the map. That attracts new players and supports future improvements and events.

  • Evidence for improvements: Good ratings and heavy usage strengthen the case for funding, course upgrades, or improvements to signage & amenities.

  • Community momentum: More unique players and more people tracking with UDisc means better data for tournaments, league planning, and scheduling - and more people to invite to volunteer days and clean-ups.

  • Local economic boost: More visitors to Greenwell often spill over into town - stopping at local cafés, shops, and services - which supports small businesses, seasonal jobs, and encourages reinvestment in community amenities.

How you can help keep the momentum

  1. Log every round on UDisc. The more rounds we have tracked, the better we can justify course upgrades and support.

  2. Invite new players. Bring a friend, start a casual weekly card, or post on local social channels. Small invitations = big growth.

  3. Leave a rating & review. A short review on UDisc or other platforms (including Google Maps) helps other players discover Greenwell.

  4. Volunteer. Help with tee maintenance, trash pickup, or event support - it all matters.

  5. Share photos & stories. Tag LCDGA and use course hashtags so we can repost and show the wider community what Greenwell DGC looks like when it’s humming.

A note of thanks

To every single person who’s played a round, posted on UDisc, helped tidy the course, or told a friend - thank you. They reflect the energy you bring to disc golf & Lake Cowichan every week.
